Training

Skill work that
shows up in games.

Triumph training is where most families start. Small groups, real coaching, and a plan for what each player needs next — for brand-new players and experienced ones alike.

What training covers

The same skills, taught at the right level.

A first-grader and an eighth-grader are working on the same game. The difference is pace, complexity, and how much we ask them to figure out on their own.

  • Ball handling
  • Footwork
  • Finishing
  • Shooting
  • Decision-making
  • Basketball IQ
  • Game-transfer skills
  • Confidence

Training is available for players approximately age 5 and up, depending on the session. Groups are kept small so coaches can correct, teach and actually watch each player work.

Weekly skills training

Year-round skill development.

Triumph coaches run skills training throughout the year. Sessions are built around fundamentals and game-transfer work, and the group a player joins depends on age, experience and what they're working toward.

Coach Oli currently leads many weekly sessions. Coach Marlowe's availability and training model may expand seasonally.

Sunday development training

Three sessions. Three levels.

Sunday is Triumph's development block. Players are grouped by readiness rather than only by age, so nobody is stuck in a session that's too easy or too far ahead.

About Early Foundations

The 11:00 session is for very new players, on lower rims. The emphasis is fun, comfort with the ball, movement and early exposure to the game. Foundational habits get built quietly underneath — we're not drilling technical footwork with five-year-olds.

Help young players fall in love with playing.

Not sure which session?

Send us your player's age and experience and we'll tell you which group fits. Older beginners in particular usually shouldn't be grouped with much younger new players — the 1:00 session exists partly for them.

Where we train

Gyms across the North Side and north suburbs.

Triumph trains out of partner facilities rather than a single building, which lets us put sessions where families actually are.

How training works

From inquiry to first session.

Step 01

Send your information

Fill out the form below with your player's age, experience and what you're looking for.

Step 02

Talk with a coach

Coach Oli follows up to talk through age, experience, goals and fit before recommending anything.

Step 03

Pick your session

We'll recommend a session and confirm an available spot that works for your schedule.

Step 04

Get to work

Payment is handled directly with your coach — currently cash or Zelle. You'll be added to Triumph's family communication from there.

Training inquiry

Tell us about your player.

Give us the basics and we'll come back with the session that fits — or tell you honestly if something else would serve them better right now.
